Science continues to influence pedagogy. This talk strengthens the case for using guided narrative within the teaching and learning process. We perceive reality via a coder in our brain function. But what codes the coder? The ‘schema’ directs the coder. In other words the stories we use to make sense of the world, how it works, who we are, how we fit within it, how everything interacts’. Those stories drive our coder. Our coder then tweaks our briain so that is exactly what we get. The point being, it is our stories that drive our perceptions, not the other way round.”
